Choreographer Constant Vigier has been selected to take part in the first edition of the Roissy Choreographic Springboard
The Roissy Choreographic Springboard is a new platform to help young choreographers develop and be seen by programmers for future commissions.
Constant Vigier is a French choreographer based in Glasgow. He is delighted to have been selected to take part in the first edition of the Roissy Choreographic Springboard, on Friday 10 November.
This event is a new platform to help young choreographers develop and be seen by programmers for future commissions. It is an amazing opportunity to get his work seen and to meet influential people to help him on his journey as a choreographer.
For this event, he will create a 15-minute piece with four dancers. He is keen to develop a neoclassical piece that will showcase the intricate quality of ballet technique mixed with a more grounded physicality. The piece is entitled “Perfume 4 Society” to echo the name of the artist whose music will be used, Perfume Genius. The '4' represents the four dancers and 'Society' relates to the theme of the piece. The work is about relationships and how society can pressure individuals with certain goals.
Rehearsals for this project will take place in London from 4 to 9 November. He will be sharing his journey, giving insights into his time in the studio and the challenges faced in the creation process.
