English National Ballet's largest ever outdoor mass movement performance will take place as part of the biennial Royal Docks Originals event in autumn 2027.
Jeanefer Jean-Charles, who led the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremonies and the Queen’s platinum jubilee pageant, is leading the project with former English National Ballet soloist Jenna Lee as the lead choreographer.
The performance, which will be the culmination of the free festival, will blend ballet, hip hop and contemporary dance styles to “reflect contemporary identities”.
ENB’s large-scale dance work outside the Royal Victoria Dock’s land and waterscape will bring together English National Ballet dancers and more than 500 community and professional performers. More than 30 local dance groups will join the project, including East London Dance who performance at One Dance UK's U.Dance National Festival this year.
