Darcey Bussell has been a long-time advocate for dance in education and strongly believes in the benefits for students' wellbeing.
Speaking at the Sky Arts Awards ceremony, she said: “I would love to see [dance] go into education as a norm, but I have been plugging that for years. I wish that dance was a really normal part of everyday education because I think it would change all our mental well-being problems, for sure – physically and mentally.”
At the ceremony at the Roundhouse in London, Darcy presented the dance award to Marc Brew and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui for their production of an Accident / a Life.
