Elizabeth has a particular interest in the history of ballet and theatrical dance, and the role of embodied knowledge and dance history in current dance practice. Elizabeth holds a PhD from the University of Leicester, with their research exploring how experiential, movement-based interpretation can be used within a museum to widen public understandings of the experiences of being a performer in both historic and contemporary contexts. Elizabeth is passionate about advocating for the value of the knowledge and expertise of dancers. Having taken dance classes since the age of 6, Elizabeth continues to regularly practice ballet, and would love a time machine so they could see Vaslav Nijisnksy perform live.
