What is a subject association?

Subject Associations are membership organisations, like One Dance UK, whose members are subject experts. Subject associations are independent of Government, and they aim to improve, enhance and further the teaching and learning of their specialist subject in schools, colleges and ITE in universities. In the case of One Dance UK, that means dance.

What is the Council for Subject Associations (CfSA)?

As the leading Subject Association for dance in schools, One Dance UK is a member of the CfSA.

CfSA is an umbrella organisation independent of the Government, representing national subject associations. CfSA brings together subjects that support teaching in schools within the 4-18 age range, allowing them to speak with a single unified voice on critical issues and consultations and update key educational influences, such as policymakers and the media, on research, professional practice and more.

All CfSA members speak to teachers, educators, trainee/student teachers, schools, FE colleagues, teacher training institutions and other educational establishments to work towards the best educational experiences for children and young people.
