Marquee TV, the leading global streaming service for dance, opera, theatre and classical music and fine art, and Britain’s leading ballet company, English National Ballet, announces a partnership that will bring acclaimed dance and exclusive behind-the-scenes content to streaming audiences worldwide.
At the heart of the partnership is Marquee TV’s co-investment in the filming of two world-premiere works in English National Ballet’s new Rhythm Riot triple bill - Bow Out and Auguries of Innocence. Rhythm Riot, which opened in the UK at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London on 24 September and runs until 3 October 2026, is described by Everything Theatre as “phenomenal… a wonderful explosion of energy, nuance, joy and physicality.” Marquee TV goes beyond distribution to invest in the film capture of new choreography, extending the global reach and long-term life of these works beyond their stage runs.
Micaela Taylor’s Bow Out, praised by The Times for being “a rhythmically alert sensibility in choreography that blends a dizzying host of styles”, will premiere exclusively for Marquee TV subscribers on 27 November 2026. Taking inspiration from legendary tap dancers the Nicholas Brothers, this new work draws on Micaela’s distinctive storytelling and versatile movement styles and features an original score by multidisciplinary artist, Tru. It will be followed in November 2027 by Auguries of Innocence by Jae Man Joo which The Guardian describes as creating, “an intense, immersive world through atmospheric visuals and score”. Inspired by William Blake’s poem of the same name, the work is a poetic meditation on our connection to the natural and spiritual worlds, set to a deeply atmospheric score by Pēteris Vasks. Both works will later be available on English National Ballet’s online streaming platform, Ballet on Demand.
Music for both new works is performed by English National Ballet Philharmonic, conducted by Music Director Maria Seletskaja.
LA-based Micaela Taylor started her career in hip hop before transitioning to classical dance. She has previously created works for Paris Opera Ballet, Acosta Danza, NDT2, and Ballet BC. She is the founder and artistic director of The TL Collective, featured in Dance Magazine’s 25 to watch list and was named winner of its 2025 Harkness Promise Award. Korean-born Jae Man Joo has choreographed for Complexions Contemporary Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre among others. His recent work Divine, for Gwangju City Ballet, received the 2024 Korea Dance Artwork of the Year prize.
Performing in the new works are Lead Principals, Aitor Arrieta, Gareth Haw, Emma Hawes, Sangeun Lee, and Associate Guest Artist, Ksenia Ovsyanick.
This partnership will also see Marquee TV and English National Ballet collaborate on two exclusive behind the scenes documentaries - The Making of Bow Out, and The Making of Auguries of Innocence - offering audiences a closer look at the artists and creative process behind the two productions. Both documentaries will be released together with Bow Out and Auguries of Innocence.
Edward Humphrey, Marquee TV CEO comments: “This partnership reflects the role we believe a global arts platform should play. It’s not simply about making exceptional work available; by investing in these two world premieres, we’re supporting new choreography, ensuring that international audiences can discover and return to these works for years to come.”
Aaron S. Watkin, Artistic Director, English National Ballet comments: “Partnering with Marquee TV helps extend the life of new choreography beyond its first performances, opening up the possibilities of ballet to more people, whoever and wherever they are. It gives audiences more ways to experience our work, go behind the scenes and see the creative process that brings our productions to life.”
