Helen Calcutt, Artistic Director of Beyond Words Dance Theatre, will deliver a keynote presentation at the London Arts-Based Research Centre's international conference Embodied Aesthetics: The Body and Embodiment in the Arts and Arts-Based Research on 20–21 June.

The conference brings together artists, researchers and practitioners working across performance, dance, medical humanities, disability studies, literature, somatic practice and arts-based research to explore the body as a site of creativity, inquiry and knowledge.

Calcutt's keynote will draw on her interdisciplinary work as a choreographer, poet and researcher, exploring the body as a site of language and communication. The presentation will also share insights from her ongoing development of the Hypha Method, a groundbreaking movement vocabulary for embodying and articulating text.

The invitation reflects growing recognition of dance-led research methodologies within interdisciplinary arts and academic contexts, and highlights the contribution of dance artists to contemporary conversations around embodied practice, creativity and knowledge exchange.
