Elmhurst Ballet School Launches Free Ballet & Beyond Taster Classes This March

Elmhurst Ballet School is delighted to invite the local community into its professional studios this March for a special programme of free Ballet & Beyond Taster Classes, taking place on Tuesday 24 March and Wednesday 25 March. Whether you’re feeling inspired to return to dance, try something new, or take your very first steps into the studio, these open classes offer the perfect opportunity to experience Elmhurst’s brand-new recreational dance programme in a friendly and supportive environment - no experience required. 

A New Chapter: Ballet & Beyond

Launched in January 2026, Ballet & Beyond is a brand-new recreational dance programme designed to make high-quality dance training accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background, or previous experience.

The initiative opens up Elmhurst’s exceptional facilities to the wider community as part of the school’s ongoing commitment to widening participation and removing barriers to entry in dance. From young children to adults, the programme celebrates movement, music and wellbeing in an inclusive, welcoming setting. Classes are open to children aged 2 years through to adults (18+), and no audition is required.

Class Timetable Highlights

The Ballet & Beyond programme runs weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, offering ballet and contemporary classes from beginner through to advanced levels. 

What to Expect at the free Taster Classes

Participants attending the March taster sessions can look forward to: 

• Meeting Elmhurst’s experienced and friendly dance tutors 
• Experiencing live piano accompaniment during ballet sessions 
• Exploring both ballet and contemporary styles 
• Enjoying a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere in professional studios 

Every ballet class within the programme features live piano accompaniment, enriching musicality, artistry and technique while offering a truly professional studio experience. 

The class timetable for the free taster classes in March is as follows:

Tuesday 24 March 

• Young Artists Ballet (Years 5 - 7): 17:30 - 18:45 
• Young Artists Contemporary (Years 5 - 7): 18:45 - 20:00 
• Emerging Artists Contemporary (Years 8 - 9): 17:30 - 18:45 
• Emerging Artists Ballet (Years 8 - 9): 18:45 - 20:00

Wednesday 25 March 

• Developing Artists Ballet (Years 10 - 11): 17:30 - 18:45 
• Developing Artists Contemporary (Years 10 - 11): 18:45 - 20:00 
• Aspire Contemporary (Year 12 & Young Adult): 17:30 - 18:45 
• Aspire Ballet (Year 12 & Young Adult): 18:45 - 20:00 
• Momentum Ballet (Adult Ballet): 19:00 - 20:30
