To mark its 10th anniversary, Dance Network Association (DNA) is proud to announce the launch of the ‘Dancing for Joy’ Conference 2025, a dynamic and inspiring event focused on the transformative power of dance in care and community settings. Set for Wednesday 5 November 2025 at Colchester Rugby Club, this exciting conference promises a day full of learning, practical workshops, self-care and valuable networking opportunities.

The conference, which celebrates a decade of DNA’s impact, will bring together professionals and artists interested in enhancing their practice by integrating dance and movement into their own settings for older adults—with a focus on individuals living with Dementia and Parkinson’s. This event will highlight the many benefits of dance for well-being, as well as offer tools and resources to help attendees create meaningful and inclusive dance sessions in their own communities.

“This conference is not only an opportunity to learn from experts in the field, but also to connect with others who share the same commitment to improving the well-being of individuals through dance and creativity.” Karen Pratt, Dancing for Joy Programme Manager.

The ‘Dancing for Joy’ Conference 2025 will offer:

  • Insightful Presentations and Practical Workshops – Attendees can expect hands-on, practical workshops focusing on topics like dancing with dementia, creating engaging and inclusive dance sessions, and using props and music to boost dance experiences for older adults.
  • DNA Advocates– Learn firsthand from individuals whose lives have been positively impacted by DNA’s programmes, as they share their experiences and insights into how dance has transformed their settings.
  • Well-being and Self-Care Moments – The conference is designed to not only offer practical learning but also to support attendees in caring for themselves. Reflective moments will give participants the permission to pause, recharge, and reflect on their own well-being.
  • Networking Opportunities – A chance to connect with other professionals committed to improving the quality of life for older adults through dance.
