Ballet Nights New Futures is a first-of-its-kind celebration of what’s next for dance, marking a landmark moment for the sector. Celebrating 7 top conservatoires and designed for students present, past and prospective, as well as parents and supporters, the inaugural programme offers a rare, joined-up view of training UK-wide.
Featuring students from The Royal Ballet School, English National Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, Rambert School, Elmhurst Ballet School, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and Northern School of Contemporary Dance, New Futures brings the UK’s leading ballet and contemporary training institutions together on the Cadogan Hall stage. In doing so, it creates a shared platform that reflects the full breadth of today’s UK dance training ecology, bridging education and industry in a way rarely seen.
Alongside this exceptional cohort, Ballet Nights also presents its Ballet Nights Young Ambassador for Indonesia 2026, reinforcing the brand's commitment to international exchange and future-facing opportunity.
The programme spans a wide range of repertoire, showcasing works by leading choreographers across ballet and contemporary dance. Students perform pieces by Sir David Bintley, Hofesh Shechter, Ashley Page, and Lynne Charles, alongside contemporary voices including Miguel Altunaga, George Liang, Amaury Lebrun, Diana Loosemore, and Lachlan Monaghan. Together, the selection reflects the breadth of choreographic styles shaping today’s dance landscape and the versatility required of the next generation of artists.
Ballet Nights New Futures is uniquely positioned as both a performance and an educational experience, created with students, parents, and prospective applicants in mind. By bringing these leading institutions together in one setting, the event offers a clear and accessible insight into the pathways into professional dance training, helping to demystify the journey from student to stage.
A defining feature of Ballet Nights New Futures is the presence of each school’s Principal or Artistic Director on stage, personally introducing their students and repertoire. This approach offers audiences rare, first-hand insight into the vision, values, and training behind each institution, while reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the evening. By placing leadership alongside students, the programme creates a direct connection between schools, audiences, and prospective dancers, underlining the event’s role as a shared platform for the future of dance.
Says Jamiel Devernay-Laurence, Founder and Artistic Director: “Dancers in training have always been a close knit and connected ecology of young people sharing a special educational journey. New Futures is the generational show that I would have looked forward to as a young dance student wanting to celebrate my training alongside my own contemporaries having their experiences UK wide. This is all about making the future of dance visible and bringing the UK’s leading schools together on one stage, showing exactly where that next generation is headed.”
