80 Dance Schools Inspiring the Next Generation of Dance Teachers

2026 marked a pivotal change to the bbodance Teaching Qualifications pathways, enabling broader access and exciting career possibilities for new applicants and those enrolled. Alongside this change, this year marked a milestone for the organisation’s teaching assistant participation. There are now over 80 bbodance Host Dance Schools worldwide guiding their students through the Level 3 Certificate Dance Teaching Assistant course.

Host Dance Schools have a vital role in the Dance Teaching Assistant course, providing access to teaching observation and assistant opportunities, logistical support, and belief in their students. Seeing so many schools become Hosts is very exciting! There is a clear appetite for qualifications and a commitment to providing positive and safe dance education for all.

The Level 3 Certificate Dance Teaching Assistant course equips students with valuable teaching assistant knowledge and skills, professional recognition and, for UK students, UCAS Tariff Points. The course is flexible, affordable and transferrable, with no previous knowledge of bbodance required. Students study entirely online, applying what they learn to their role as teaching assistants, and the modules are designed to fit around their existing commitments, such as school and dance classes. Students are supported by bbodance Tutors and Host Dance Schools are supported by our Head of Teaching Qualifications.
