ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a keen individual to work in the role of a Youth Dance Company Coordinator to support and coordinate the day-to-day youth dance activities, projects and events for Artistry Youth Dance. The role involves administrative duties, and support of the coordination of our youth dance company programmes. Our projects include: a weekly youth dance company, the AYD100 Scholarship programme, performances, and group trips to the theatre for young people.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisation and administration skills, an understanding of youth dance training and education, with a desire to support the development of young aspiring dance artists. A dedication to diversity within the dance sector is essential. Knowledge of policies, practices and procedures such a Safeguarding will also be useful, however training is provided. As the role involves working with children and young people, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check will be required.

The role is 2 days per week (working from home). The applicant will need to be available on some Sundays between 10.00am – 6.00pm to support the youth dance company training, as well as during half-term projects, and some evenings. The role will involve all Sundays during term time from September 2025.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating a range of Youth Dance Company activities
  • Supporting the Project Manager and Artistic Director in the programming and delivery of youth dance activities, events, projects, and performances
  • Carry out administration needs for youth dance company projects, events, and activities, including data entry
  • Communicating with young people in our youth dance programmes, (verbal and written)
  • Communicating with parents/carers regarding the youth dance company (verbal and written)
  • Communicating with schools, arts organisations, and dance networks regarding our activities
  • Supporting the creation of promotional material for programmes (including social media and PR)
  • Supporting and attending Artistry Youth Dance internal and external meetings and training events
  • Assist with the successful set up, break down, and delivery of projects, classes, and events
  • Manage incoming emails and enquiries on working days
  • Pastoral care for young people
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities with professionalism ABOUT YOU Essential Skills
  • Experience in coordination and administration for planning, monitoring & evaluating projects and events, particularly in the Arts and Culture sector
  • Confident, friendly, and have a positive attitude
  • Interested in dance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to be flexible with time/working hours
  • Organised and able to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Commitment to the values and work of Artistry Youth Dance
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in arts administration/coordination, or similar role

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of London and UK schools, dance schools, youth dance companies, and Arts organisations
  • Knowledge of the UK dance sector
  • Experience of working with a youth organisation/young people

Knowledge in the following tools would also be useful:

  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • Zoom or equivalent
  • Mailchimp
  • Photo/Video editing programmes
  • Use of Social Media Platforms

Other Information:

Time requirement: Two days per week (working from home), including some Sundays, evenings and half-term dates. The role will include all Sundays during term time from September 2025.

Location: Working from home or on-site at The Place, and various London locations, dependent on event.

Interviews: Week commencing 30 June 2025

Start Date: July 2025 Fee: £15/hour (£120 per day)
