Enhance your physiotherapy skills and knowledge with this in-depth workshop from Shane Kelly and Jonathan Bucke from the Ballet Healthcare team at The Royal Ballet. This comprehensive and practical day will focus on the management of bone stress injury (BSI) in elite dancers including sessions on epidemiology, aetiology, RED-D, diagnosis, assessment, management and working in dance.
The learning aims for the day are;
- Understand the burden on bone stress injuries (BSI) in dancers
- Understand the causes and risk factors of BSI specific to a dance environment
- Upskill diagnostic knowledge and application
- Upskill clinical assessment related to BSI
- Upskill management and rehab practice
- Learn about the Ballet Healthcare best practice guidelines for bone stress management
- Appreciate the contextual factors of working in dance and how this can affect management of BSI
