This March dancers from JV2 2023-24, Jasmin Vardimon Company’s professional development programme, will showcase three powerfully choreographed pieces at the new purpose-built JV H.O.M.E before going on to tour UK venues. Ashford will be host to the premiere of two exciting works from Jasmin Vardimon Company associates, Alexandros Stavropoulos & Kay Crook.

JV H.O.M.E, the purpose-built home for the renowned Jasmin Vardimon Company is to host a compelling programme of work. All pieces will be performed by dancers from the company’s professional development programme JV2, the three works comprise premieres of works from Company dancer Alexandros Stavropoulos and Kay Crook of Chhaya Collective and will culminate with ‘Tomorrow’ by the acclaimed choreographer Jasmin Vardimon herself.

These public performances represent the accomplishment of the JV2 dancers, allowing them to showcase their talents in front of live audiences. The JV2 dancers will go on to perform at Riley Theatre, Northern School of Contemporary Dance on Friday 22nd March, and Gulbenkian, Canterbury on Tuesday 26th March, before finishing the tour at Hemsted Park in Cranbrook, Kent on Thursday 4th April.

The premiere of Sweet Disposition by Alexandros Stavropoulos will be a step into the world of minimalistic choreography as he reimagines the essence of womanhood. The costumes, influenced by aesthetic kitsch and pop, add an extra layer of visual delight to this enchanting choreographic exploration.

Presented alongside will be Kay Crook’s PENELOPE, inspired by Homer's Odyssey and Margaret Atwood's 'The Penelopiad', we step into the world of Penelope; highlighted as the most 'faithful of wives’, fighting off 108 suitors across 20 years while awaiting Odysseus' return.

Joining these works at JV H.O.M.E will be Tomorrow choreographed by multi-award-winning, Jasmin Vardimon MBE. Celebrating moments from Park, Justitia, 7734 and Yesterday, Tomorrow is a vibrant and powerful explosion of the exceptional talent of JV2.

The established JV2 Professional Development Diploma was developed by Jasmin Vardimon Company with the mission to encourage, cultivate and nurture young talent. The programme offers participants a unique opportunity to train as versatile and multi-disciplinary performers, under the guidance of one of the world’s leading female choreographers. This brilliant dance ensemble, hand-picked by Jasmin Vardimon, showcases an exciting and energetic mix of inventive choreography and exceptional new talent.
