Profile

Amelia is Dance Specialist Physiotherapist and Health Educator working in both NHS and private settings. She specialises in the assessment and treatment of performing arts injuries and return to dance rehabilitation. She is a certified APPI Pilates instructor and delivers Dance Science and Health education sessions both nationally and internationally.

Amelia draws upon her own experiences as a dancer having trained pre-professionally at The Royal Ballet School from the age of 11-19 years. Following several significant injuries Amelia chose to pursue a career in dancers health with an empathic approach and unique understanding of both the physical and psychological effects of injury. She has worked within both adult and paediatric settings in the NHS as well as working with vocational dance students, professional dancers and west end performers in private practice. Her treatments include manual therapy, soft tissue release, taping, clinical Pilates and return to dance testing/rehabilitation.

Having worked within the field of Dance Science for the past 10 years Amelia is also able to provide comprehensive dancer screening and tailored injury prevention advice. Her individual recommendations and educational workshops are informed by the best available evidence and she is able to provide electronic home exercise programmes/resources. Her main aim is to provide an effective and empathic approach to injury management and rehabilitation supporting dancers ongoing self management and well-being.
