2013 Peter Badejo OBE

African performance specialist Peter Badejo OBE is one of Nigeria’s foremost choreographers and dancers. For the past 25 years he has divided his time between the UK and Nigeria. Alongside being Artistic Director of Badejo Arts, Peter has seen his work commissioned by companies worldwide. His tireless work in education and the development of African performance arts has led him to engaging in lecturing and research work for a vast number of leading institutions.

2011 Jackie Guy MBE, CD

With more than 40 years’ experience as an educator, performer, choreographer and artistic director, Jackie is one of the UK’s leading experts in African-Caribbean dance forms. He has directed and choreographed all over the UK and worldwide, and in his role as an educator has lectured extensively and facilitated numerous major community dance projects. In 2015 he was awarded Jamaica’s Order of Distinction, Commander Class (CD).
