Pearson announce successful return of A-Level History of Art
It was announced on 1 December that qualifications provider Pearson would offer a new A-Level in History of Art for first teaching from September 2017.
This move has been welcomed by campaigners including the Subject Association for Art & Design (NSEAD) who sought to get it re-instated.
Matt Hancock MP, Minister of State for Digital & Culture, also welcomed this new A-Level, saying on Twitter: Thrilled that #ArtHistory A Level is being taken on by @Pearson_UK – crucial that students get widest range of subjects to choose from.
As the Subject Association for Dance, One Dance UK, is heartened by this development. To see arts subjects being valued in this way provides us with hope that this will continue to be seen across all stages of education.
