Moya Maxwell announced as new Executive Director of Shobana Jeyasingh Dance
Moya Maxwell has been appointed as Executive Director of Shobana Jeyasingh Dance and will take up the post on 10 September 2018. Maxwell joins the company from RIBA where she was Head of Venues, leading and developing the organisation’s venue and events teams.

As we approach our 30th anniversary, Moya’s experience will enable SJD to accelerate our growth and rapidly expand the range of people who engage with Shobana’s work – artists, audiences, participants, funders and that infinite world of digital consumers. Moya Maxwell said:

Maxwell’s previous roles include Head of Commercial Programming at the Royal Opera House; Business Development Manager, St James Theatre, Wellington, New Zealand and Events Manager at Sadler’s Wells Theatre.
Throughout her career, she has been involved in developing new commercial opportunities for arts and cultural organisations, as well as brand licensing, merchandising and retail. She is a trustee of People United, an charity which is a creative laboratory, using the arts to bring about social change.
Maxwell takes over from Ed Hossack who has been working with the company as Interim Executive Director since February 2018.
