Michael Clark: Cosmic Dancer at V&A Dundee

16 Jul 2021

New date announced – Opening Saturday 26 February 2022

Michael Clark: Cosmic Dancer is the first ever major exhibition on the groundbreaking dancer and choreographer Michael Clark. This exploration of Clark’s work establishes his radical presence in British cultural history.

Looking back to his meteoric rise as a young choreographer in the 1980s, the exhibition presents a comprehensive vision of Clark’s career to date, showcasing his unique multi-disciplinary approach that incorporates a wide range of subcultural influences. Film, photography, and material from Clark’s practice will be presented alongside his legendary collaborations across visual arts, music, fashion and film.

Leonie Bell, Director of V&A Dundee, said: “Michael Clark is a truly remarkable creative force, who as a dancer and choreographer has challenged and redefined the limits of dance, its relationship to design and its place in contemporary culture.”

This exhibition was first seen at the Barbican Art Gallery, October to December 2020. Exhibition curated and organised by Barbican Centre, London.
