Job titleTrustees – National Dance Company Wales
EmployerNational Dance Company Wales
Job Description

National Dance Company Wales is looking for a diverse group of people to join us who can help guide and support our leadership team as we re-imagine what a contemporary dance company might be, whilst remaining true to our mission and values, inspiring the people of Wales and the world with great dance.

We are open to new ideas and approaches on our Board – with our audiences and participants at the heart of our thinking. We want to find new ways of working to reach new and different people – to achieve our mission ‘to make great dance with and for all kinds of people in all kinds of places. It’s less important that you are a specialist in dance (though we are also looking for people with specialisms in this area) and more important that you have commitment and passion for our agenda of social justice, innovation and building our resilience.

You will be deeply committed to helping us to find ways in which NDCWales can connect with the public to meet its social justice priorities and to diversify the people who take part in our work. We are looking for up to 4 new trustees. Each trustee serves for up to 2 terms of 3 years each.

Social justice, equality and fairness are at the core of everything that NDCWales does. We are committed to ensuring that everyone in Wales has equal opportunities to access dance. NDCWales will seek to ensure that no one receives less favourable treatment because of having a protected characteristic as defined in the equalities Act 2010. We particularly encourage applications from people who are underrepresented in the dance sector, and from those who experience discrimination due to race, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, disability or age. We are dedicated to meeting access requirements; just let us know what you need.
