Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Press & Communications Officer to join the Marketing and Communications Department.

Permanent | Full-time 34.5 hours per week

Reporting to the Press & Communications Manager, you will:

  • Support the Press & Communications Manager in devising effective press campaigns
  • Promote the work of the RAD in the trade, national, regional and international media
  • Grow and engage the RAD’s social media community, keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in the field, and
  • Play a lead role in the delivery of effective communications campaigns from a press and social media perspective.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with significant experience of working in press and communications specifically managing social media profiles. You will have excellent IT skills (including social media and the MS office suite) and good working knowledge of Google Analytics, Buffer (or similar) and media monitoring platforms (i.e. Kantar).

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, together with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and see tasks/projects through to completion is required. The ability to handle conflicting demands under pressure and work on a wide range of tasks with accuracy and attention to detail will be needed. You will be able to think visually and creatively and build successful working relationships.

Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation, Photoshop (other media editing software) and MailChimp is desirable but not essential.

Flexibility to occasionally work beyond the normal full time hours and to travel outside of the London area is required.

An offer of employment will be subject to criminal record clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or overseas equivalent.
