|Job title||Dance and new music Short Film Commission|
|Employer||National Dance Company Wales|
Following the success of the first two series of Plethu/Weave, our collaborative short-film project that fused poetry and dance, NDCWales is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Tŷ Cerdd (Music Centre Wales) to commission 5 new films working with music creators.
Tŷ Cerdd (Music Centre Wales) are issuing calls to music-creators of African descent living and working in Wales as part of a collaboration with the Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel. affricerdd, a strand of Tapestri, is a new initiative (funded by Arts Council of Wales’s Connect & Flourish programme) to create a living musical archive of the people, languages and communities of Wales. National Dance Company Wales are commissioning dance artists from any discipline to work in collaboration with these 5 music-creators to make original short films or music videos, and as always, encourage artists who typically experience discrimination in the sector to apply.
5 dance artists will be matched with 5 music-creators to collaborate on a short film or music video of up to 5 minutes’ duration, this will include a self-managed 4-week collaboration period culminating in the creation of a film to be released by NDCWales and Tŷ Cerdd on their websites and social media channels.
