The Place, London’s creative powerhouse for dance development, has been leading the way in dance training, creation and performance for over 50 years. The Place is home to a busy Children and Youth Dance programme, with around 300 young dancers aged 5-18 joining us each week in usual times, to take part in our 15 classes.
At a pivotal point of change for our Children and Youth Dance programme, The Place are looking for artists who are experienced in delivering dance classes for young people, guiding them through movement explorations that draw on a variety of movement vocabulary, supporting us in reaching our mission: to power imagination through dance.
We are excited to hear from teaching artists who have an embodied experience of, and teaching practice in, one or more of the following areas: West-African dance techniques, traditional and contemporary African dance practices, Hip Hop, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and other diasporic dance forms originating from the Global South.
