Harlequin floors invite dancers and dance teachers across the UK to design their ideal free-standing ballet barre!
Dancers and dance teachers across the UK are being invited to design their ideal free-standing ballet barre, in a bid to win one – PLUS a weekend in Paris!
Harlequin Floors, the global leader in advanced technology flooring and studio equipment for dance, performing arts, entertainment and events, has launched a competition to create the ultimate ballet barre.
The winning design will be produced by Harlequin, tested by professional dancers from a leading ballet company and will be sold by Harlequin around the world.
The winner will be given the first finished ballet barre, as well as a weekend in Paris, including a pair of tickets to see the Paris Opera Ballet with a behind the scenes tour at the Palais Garnier (Paris).
The competition is being launched to mark World Ballet Day (23rd October 2019).
Melissa Chapman, Group Marketing Manager at Harlequin Floors said:
“We spend a lot of time talking to dancers and dance teachers about the importance of good studio equipment and many have excellent ideas about how their studios can be improved. So we thought it would be a great idea to let them give free rein to their creativity and design their ideal free-standing ballet barre. We’re looking for a product that fits the Harlequin brand of quality and complements the Harlequin range of products. The barre needs to be modern in design, both portable and sturdy and easy to put together. Many of the teachers we talk to tell us that they have been designing the ‘ultimate’ ballet barre in their head for years!
Many ballet barre designs have a number of useful elements but don’t necessarily have everything a dancer or dance teacher requires. This is your chance to bring your ideal designs to fruition.
Full technical drawings are not necessary to enter but they do need to be detailed enough to brief the technical team to make them.
The competition will run from the 23rd of October 2019 until the 31st of December 2019. All designs will be judged by a panel of Harlequin senior management and leading dance professionals.
The winner will be announced at the end of February 2020.
