Gonzalo Preciado Azanza on third solo tour

Spanish dancer and One Dance UK member Gonzalo Preciado Azanza is immersed in his third solo tour, Phoenix Tour 2018.

After becoming the first Spanish dancer to join the Latvian National Ballet and realizing his firsts solo tours, The Reborn Tour 2016 and Fusion Tour 2017, he has just started his next project. Phoenix Tour 2018, started at the beginning of this year and will finish in November, with the aim to celebrate his 15 years on stage in addition to continuing with the lines of activity previously established, through various events in Spain, Latvia, United Kingdom and other countries.

The project Phoenix Tour 2018 consists of three main lines of activity: Gonzalo’s  progression as a soloist dancer, the diffusion and the divulgation and investigation of culture, art and culture.

The progression as a soloist dancer through various galas, festivals and competitions: among them is the premiere of his new choreography The Essence of Time, performed by the dancer Jolanta Lubeja and himself. Next May 14 at the Auditorium of the Latvian National Library in Riga organised by the Embassy of Spain in Latvia, Gonzalo will premiere Human at the gala Possible VIII, a solo created specifically for him by Raimonds Martinovs. He also participates in several galas and festivals of international prestige such as as the Latvian National Ballet Centennial Gala on November 2 in Riga, as well as the numerous events related to the Latvijas Simtgade, the centenary of Latvia in November.

The diffusion of culture, art and dance to the general public, continuing with the Spanish national tour of the Itinerant Photographic Exhibition of De Zaragoza al Mundo alongside with the photographer Alberto Rodrigálvarez in collaboration with the Fundación CAI y la Casa de la Danza de Logroño. Gonzalo will also participate in the Charity Auction of Rioja Wine Bottles dedicated and signed during the award ceremony of the Amigos de Honor 2018 of this institution, the creation of his promotional video 2018 in November, and several more events that will be announced in the coming months.

The divulgation and investigation of culture, art and culture: this line has recently been released through his Professional Enquiry on January 18 at Middlesex University in London and will continue throughout the tour with the publication of various articles, both academic and divulgative.

Gonzalo has danced in several countries such as United Kingdom, Italy, Estonia, Spain or Latvia. Previously, he participated in productions with other companies including the unfortunately extinct Ballet of Zaragoza, LaMov Cia de Danza and the English National Ballet, as well as participating in various galas like the Gran Concierto de Año Nuevo 2015 in Zaragoza or the Season Opening Concert 2015 en Riga. In the middle of 2016 he realized his first solo tour, The Reborn Tour 2016 participating in several galas and festivals in in Spain and Latvia. Since the end of last year he was immersed in his second solo project, Fusion Tour 2017, with the aim to continue and strengthen the bases started on his previous tour in an international way.

Since 2015, Gonzalo has been a member of One Dance UK and of the International Dance Council of the UNESCO since 2017. His awards and grants include the Dance and Drama Award (DaDa) by the Government of the UK and the Beca de Ampliación de Estudios Artísticos de la Diputación de Zaragoza in 2012. As a writer, he is a collaborator at dance magazine Danzaenescena.
