Dance Passion: drop-in sessions and workshops

11 May 2021

Dance Passion is a celebration of the UK Dance sector and dance in all its forms. A collaboration between BBC Arts and One Dance UK supported by Arts Council England, Dance Passion will return to the BBC in early 2022.

Connected Studio will partner in the commissioning, production and hosting of up to five interactive experiences commissioned as part of the interactive strand of the Dance Passion open call. As part of the call applicants will be asked to use one of the MakerBox  tools to create their interactive experience. This is a funded opportunity open to dance companies, independent artists and creative technologists across the UK.

As part of the application process, applicants are invited to attend FREE workshops, led by the BBC team on 19 May and 2 June. There will also be drop in sessions on 27 May and 8 June. The workshops will offer participants the chance to get an in-depth introduction to the MakerBox tools and a chance to develop and discuss their ideas with other applicants and members of the Connected Studio teams, as well as hearing from those who created the tools on how to use them to their full creative potential. The session will also have time for idea generation and ideation.

Drop-in sessions will be a more informal chance for you and your team to talk one to one with the Connected Studio team about any questions you may have about the brief or using the tool. After signing up through the Zoom portal you will be emailed a 20-minute slot.
