Resolution is The Place’s annual festival of new dance and performance works by emerging artists.

Choreographers and companies are invited to propose ideas for new work that they are passionate about bringing to life. Over 70 UK artists will be selected to create their works and have them performed as part of triple bills in The Place’s theatre as part of the festival which runs January to February 2018.

The 28th edition of the festival is open for applications from dance artists and movement innovators from all different backgrounds, styles and experiences; from contemporary, to Hip-hop, to Immersive dance theatre, and circus.

Successful applicants benefit from a series of supportive and practical workshops run by industry professionals covering all aspects of the business from lighting design, to funding applications and marketing, as well being able to present their work on an established London stage. There is an associated scheme Resolution Review which supports emerging writers and this provides a critical sounding board as part of the experience with review written by leading national critics and new writers.

The festival is the perfect opportunity for choreographers to take the next step in their careers, and has provided a launch pad for many of the familiar names in the world of dance today.

Applications open in July and are in the form of a written online proposal with supporting video clips. The closing date is Thursday 7 September 2017.
