The Point’s autumn season features a programme of world-class dance, welcoming some of the country’s most exciting companies to Eastleigh.

On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September The Point, in partnership with Shobana Jeyasingh Dance, presents Contagion at The Great Hall, Winchester. Co-commissioned by 14-18 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary, the work explores the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic.

Arts-in-health charity Rosetta Life presents Stroke Odysseys on Thursday 4th October. A new production by award-winning choreographer Ben Duke, the work comes from a three year creative intervention in London’s stroke community.

The show is performed by an ensemble of stroke survivors, alongside a professional cast. The performance is accompanied by a series of workshops and industry-related talks, aimed at locally-based artists, practitioners and those working in the health care sector.

The venue’s season highlight comes from Barely Methodical Troupe with Shift on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th October. Suitable for all ages, the critically-acclaimed company presents an impressive display of acrobatics, cyr wheel and break dancing, following smash-hit shows Bromance and Kin.

A regional powerhouse for contemporary performance, The Point’s autumn season showcases its @HOME and Associate artists with two must-see evenings of dance. On Thursday 11th October Lîla Dance presents new production The Hotel Experience, followed by a variety show featuring work by Grania Pickard and Joli Vyann on Thursday 15th November.

Let’s All Dance returns to the venue on Thursday 25th October with Alice in Wonderland. Made especially for young people aged 2-11 years old and their families, the magical ballet features stunning dance and well-known characters. Protein Dance presents The Little Prince on Saturday 1st December. The company’s very first children’s show, this adaptation of the much-loved tale will delight all ages.

The Point’s seven companies, including Hampshire Youth Dance and all-male company Orb, perform at the annual Point Dance Showcase on Wednesday 5th December. A celebration of the region’s finest local talent, the evening is not to be missed.
