Ask your local MP to sign the Parliamentary Motion for International Dance Day
Co-Chair of the Dance All Party Parliamentary group, Nic Dakin MP, has tabled a motion in Parliament marking International Dance Day later this month, and congratulating One Dance UK on our work.
“That this House acknowledges International Dance Day on 29 April 2019, celebrating the UK dance sector, which is vibrant and diverse and a flagship UK industry; notes that as well as being a great UK art form, dance has a unique and important role to play in education, health and well being, community cohesion, social mobility and diversity; further notes that dance is at the heart of our UK creative industries, a sector worth over £100 billion and growing at twice the rate of the economy; welcomes the work of One Dance UK, providing valuable support and one strong national voice for the sector; and congratulates all those working in the UK dance sector, from dance artists and choreographers to educators, students, researchers and some of the world’s most renowned companies and theatres.”
