Enter the world of tango diva Violetta, an ageing singer who lives out her dreams in the suburban Milongas of Buenos Aires.

This fully staged evening of specially arranged popular opera, tango and musical numbers features opera singer Ann Liebeck in the title role alongside contemporary dancer Nuno Queimado as Alfredo. She is joined by Argentinian dance couple champions Miriam Orcutt & Dante Culcuy, new to the show. An exciting fusion of opera dance and tango features choreography by David BenitezKatherine Codogno Nuno Silva and Benny Maslov. This captivating performance will also be enhanced by special projections by Viennese opera designer and artist Gilles Gubelmann. Lighting and direction is by #Roz #Malyon and Brian McMahon.

Live music from virtuoso Cuban jazz violinist Omar Puente Fiffe and his guest tango band, featuring star bandoneon player Julian Rowlands of Midnight Tango (Olivier award-nominated with Tango Siempre), Tom Mason and Michael Haslam accompanies the action on stage as Violetta wanders the streets and Milongas in search of her long lost love. The show has received enthusiastic reviews from audiences at Kings Place, Purcell Room QEH, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at Artsdepot, Finchley.

‘From Bizet to Puccini ….the music is utterly sensational …as is the dance’ Edinburgh Fringe Reviews.
