Janet SmithJanet Smith, Artistic Director of Scottish Dance Theatre, recieved the Jane Attenborough Dance UK Industry Award 2008 which honoursan individual working in dance who has made an outstanding contribution to the art form and who, through his or her knowledge, skill and generosity, has had a significant effect on dance.

Janet Smith explains why winning this particular award is so important to her:

“I cannot imagine a greater honour than the recognition and appreciation from peers and colleagues in the field that this prestigious award represents and I am both delighted and humbled to be chosen as this year’s recipient.”

The Award enjoys a high profile being part of the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards.
