Craig Revel Horwood becomes Patron of bbodance
Dancer, choreographer, theatre director, and Judge of the nation’s favourite Saturday-night show, Strictly Come Dancing, Craig Revel Horwood has become Patron of bbodance, formerly known as The British Ballet Organization, earlier today. The organisation’s Patrons include esteemed ballet dancers, Dame Beryl Grey DBE and Wayne Sleep OBE.
“I love the way bbodance have modernised. I love the energy and enthusiasm emanating from bbodance, and it’s a pleasure to support such a dynamic organisation that embraces all dance styles,” Craig stated.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have a Patron with such a high profile in the UK psyche. Strictly Come Dancing appeals to dance lovers of all ages, which is tremendous for us as we move into the area of Musical Theatre and try to reach younger students from more diverse backgrounds,” declared bbodance CEO, Robin Bloor.
This announcement comes on the second anniversary of the organisation’s state-of-the-art headquarters overlooking the Thames in Battersea Reach.
Founded in 1930 by Edouard Espinosa and Eve Kelland, bbodance is one of the UK’s leading dance Awarding Organisations, providing its own Ofqual-recognised syllabi in Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre, as well as a Level 3 Extended Diploma in partnership with South Thames College and dance teacher training for Levels 4 to 6 Extended. bbodance is also present internationally, including a large membership in Australia and New Zealand.
