Call Out for Dance MASH Artistic Development Bursaries

21 Dec 2017

Dance Hub Birmingham is delighted to announce a Dance MASH pilot programme for the week of 22-26 January 2018, delivered in partnership with Birmingham Royal Ballet, DanceXchange and Birmingham Hippodrome; with a growing number of additional partners from the region’s dance sector contributing throughout the week.

Dance MASH will build on previous collaborative weeks in the city, focused on professional development and will be a pilot activity within the Pathways strand of Dance Hub Birmingham’s programme. The full programme will be released in early January, but in response to feedback from our artist community will include the return of Class MASH, a collaborative class for dance artists of all forms and disciplines to share practice and process led by a minimum of four Midlands choreographers (most likely on Monday 22 January).

The general programme will be Open Access for all professional dance practitioners, however we are delighted that this year we are able to offer two Artistic Development Bursaries of up to £1,200 for artists to test and develop a new idea during the Dance MASH week.

The Dance Hub Birmingham Dance MASH Artistic Development Bursaries are open to artists and dance sector professionals who are based in Birmingham or the West Midlands (Coventry, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire).

The closing date for proposals will be Monday 8 January 2018 at 9am. Please submit your proposal to Hannah Busst at

Applicants can expect to be informed of the outcome by Wednesday 10 January 2018.
