Two exciting professional development opportunities available for Scottish dance artists, and choreographers identified as future industry leaders:
One Dance UK is inviting applications for its 2017 Scottish mentoring programme.
This much sought-after programme is offered to dance artists and practitioners who live and work in Scotland and have been identified as future industry leaders. The programme offers dance artists the opportunity of preparing for a career beyond performing by benefiting from the wisdom, experience and industry insights of a mentor.
Applicants, nominated by their peers, must either be independent dance artists who hold One Dance UK membership, or be dancers working as part of a One Dance UK member company and, in addition, have had at least eight years of professional dance experience.
Each successful applicant will receive a bursary to cover travel and other necessary expenses.
The deadline for receipt of nominations and applications is 24 September 2017 at 23:59 hours. More details on this programme and the nomination and application process can be found here.
The Choreographers Observership Programme Scotland enables choreographers to observe another choreographer of their choice at work between October 2017 and June 2018.
The choreographer being observed receives a modest honorarium of £300 for their time and to open their practice for up to two sessions.
One Dance UK’s Choreographers Observerships Programme Scotland was launched in response to demand from choreographers for opportunities to observe other artists at work, either to open up new areas of work, (for example in commercials, theatre or opera), or to learn from another artist’s creative practice.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 24 September 2017 at 23:59 hours. More details on this programme and the application process can be found here.
